Technology dependence

Arrgh,
I forgot my cell phone.
I remember when that wasn't a real problem but now it annoys me.
I mean it is like a drug.  When you have it you feel fine and don't really notice it.
When it is missing you really notice not having it.
It is almost like I'm not getting my coffee.

Trying to keep up

Ok, So I've been a bad journal writer (well more like no journal writer) since I started.
I have however been lurking and reading others as I get time.
No more. I will be trying to join my illustrious friends in letting you know what is going on with me.

I had a good time over the holidays (even though the weather has been miserable). 60's and 70's in December, Bah humbug, the same in January, Wahh! For those of you who are uninformed: I LIKE TO SKI! It is however a winter sport and requires snow.

I have been trying to clean up my house. I have succeeded in getting some of the mess out but as I was digging stuff out of the computer room I discovered a game (Age of Empires II) which I really like and haven't played in forever. That succeeded in derailing my cleaning for a few days... Oh well.

I will hopefully be able to update stuff more frequently from now on. Until then...

Skiing yeah

So anyway after several hours of calling / pestering / threatening United, I finally found out that I was not alone. They lost / delayed over 100 bags this weekend. They finally rented a U-haul truck and brought the bags up here. I got mine today (2/20) and was able to ski with my own stuff for once. We have been flying down the slopes and having a great time. This does however greatly increase the wind chill of the 5 F it was yesterday. Wish you guys could be here (it is a great place to learn as well).

Update on life.

My life mainly.
Thank you all for the great enthusiasm. I am glad to be here.

Today is just another day for me so-far. Ho hum.

Anyway. Here is what is going on with my life so far. My company SCYNEXIS is doing well. We have been growing like crazy. Hiring a lot of people taking over our building. (We kicked out our neighbors and will probably need even more room in the next while. My group (Animal Health) has made 35,000+ pure compounds this year. This means by the way that I have analyzed over 100,000 compounds total. Other than that my job has become pretty routine. I am still the local expert on our equipment and end up working way too much to make them operate all the time.
I am also taking European Martial Arts. Our school has a website www.emaaknights.com and is doing very well. I have been having a blast doing this. It is a lot of fun and a great workout. I recently made Knight (basically equivalent to black belt) and am presently working on Florentine fighting. This is where you fight with two swords (single handed broad swords) at one time. My left arm hurts all the time I am working on this. I am not use to using my left arm when fighting except to grab my opponent's weapon. I have also learned Single handed sword, two handed sword, pike, staff, dagger, sword and shield, several other weapons. I am on the STORM team and fight with a couple of other senior students in full armor (chain mail) and steel weapons.
We pull our hits which means we usually end up with a few bruises but nothing worse. (Although I did chip a tooth recently doing some dagger sparring w/o a helm. Stupid!!!)
Anyway, that's all for now.
